In the ‘this is completely unncessary’ news of the day -
Yves Saint Laurent renamed to Saint Laurent Paris
Slimane took over from Stefano Pilati as the fashion house’s new creative director in March this year. The new name is expected to be introduced in the coming months and should be implemented by the time Slimane’s debut spring/summer 2013 collection lands in stores, WWD reports. The designer will use the same font and nomenclature that the label’s eponymous founder first used when he launched his ready-to-wear line in 1966, then called Saint Laurent River Gauche. A spokesperson for the label told WWD that Slimane will use the house’s “original branding” in order to restore “the house to its truth, purity and essence - and taking it into a new era”, while “respecting the original principles and ideals”. The brand’s logo will also remain the same. Slimane’s debut pre spring/summer 2013 collection will be shown to a small group of buyers imminently, while his first catwalk show will be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week - which starts on September 25 and finishes October 3.

CHANEL Spring/Summer 2012 | Paris Fashion Week
What is air?! Currently choking over Karl Lagerfeld’s latest work! The CHANEL S/S 2012 show has to rank as the best quality show (with a live performance by Florence Welche of Florence + the Machine) of all of Paris Fashion Week 2012. The show was an ocean of delights. Props to Karl for not falling back on the overdone modern day mermaid references). Offsetting light, nearly iridescent colors, ruffles, and a tad big of play with transparency were all apart of the collection this year. CHANEL get’s a AAA+!
